1) First of all, many congratulations to you, Can you introduce yourself and tell us a little about you?
Thank you so much for offering this space. I am Jaime Cesar, a scientist and artist with a passion for communication. I’m a geochemist, working full-time for the Canadian government, and have a growing career in music and theatre. I also enjoy writing poetry and have extended experience as a science communicator. I love traveling and having long conversations; listening to people’s stories is super fun and eye-opening.
2) What are your next projects ?
I am currently rehearsing for a musical that will take place the first week of November. Next year, I am hoping to record some music and continue to do theatre. Learning Korean language is an ongoing project of mine as well.
3) If you are elected “Mister Tourism world 2023”, what will be your first action ?
I will call my mother for sure, ha-ha!… After that, I will be ready to work. I will discuss with the organization what the best starting point is, communication is key. I would love to strengthen the projects I am already working on, for example, my climate talks and other climate initiatives in Canada. Taking this conversation to the next level, internationally, will be my focus. At a major scale, I dream of fostering climate change studies in developing countries.
4) Mister Tourism World ’s slogan is “Building a better World”. Do you support a cause?
I am committed to the Climate Change cause. I am a member and volunteer of the climate hub of my city and take part of activities promoting the communication of science around the climate change topic. Being authentic seems to be a “cause of today” too, so just being myself and putting together my charisma and talents to reach people’s heart are part of my daily goals to build a better world. I love storytelling and thus I am confident that sharing my story will inspire others to build a better world too.
5) What is your favorite song or music video?
Still Rolling Stones by Lauren Daigle is a song the gets me dancing in the living room; it empowers me when I need some motivation.
6 ) What is your favorite food?
I would say Korean cuisine is always my first choice. However, in my last trip to Japan, I tried sea urchins and they’re the best food I’ve ever had.
7) What is your favorite animal ?
I admire birds for they can fly. They make me think of a big-picture perspective over different aspects of life. But, if I had to choose, I would go with a platypus, very rare and beautiful at the same time. I love its uniqueness.
8) What is your favorite movie ?
Big Harry Potter fan here.
9) What is your favorite color ?
Blue violet and shades around that spectrum usually make me smile.
10) Name your favorite book ?
“Big magic” by Elizabeth Gilbert. Every human being should read that book.
11) Name your favorite magazine ?
I do not have a magazine that I usually go to. Perhaps it is time to check some out.
12) Who is your favorite celebrity ?
I do not crazily follow one. However, my safe singer to go to is Guy Sebastian, an Australian pop star. I also love Nacha Guevara, and Argentinian actress/singer who is an incredibly wise human.
13) What’s your special message to your fans and our fellow readers?
Thank you, guys. I am here to help make things better, and that wouldn’t be possible without your support. I hope my story gives you something to think about, something to learn from.
