Robby Voets, who won as first runner-up in the Mister Belgian Style 2017 contest, became the new Mister Belgian Style 2017 when Robbe Steenssens resigned shortly after winning. The grand finals of the pageant was held last March 4, 2017 at the Best Western Plus Aldhem Hotel. Steenssens cited “recent changes” in his personal life and busy schedule as the reason for his resignation. “Due to recent changes in my personal life, it’s not possible for me to combine my job, my home renovations, and all responsibilities that come with the title of Mister Belgian Style 2017,” Steensseens said when he announced his resignation last Saturday March 11. He further added that “I’m very happy to have had the honor to be announced as the winner, but it seems best to resign now, few days after the final show,”
The new winner of Mister Belgian 2017 took over the title and responsibilities. Voets said he was “shocked” when the Mister Belgian Style organization (MBSO) asked him to take over the title as he was already happy with his second-place achievement. “I will always be the only Mister Belgian Style that doesn’t know how it feels when your name is announced at the end of the final show. Especially for my fans, this will forever be disappointing,” Voets said. “I will grab this chance with both hands and make the MBSO proud!”
Robby may become the representative of Belgium in the coming 12th edition of Mister International.
